Arsenal Prepares Bid for Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa Amid Valuation Disparities

Reports indicate that Arsenal is preparing a bid for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, although Chelsea has opted to pay £117 million for him. Tom Collomosse of the Daily Mail reported that the Gunners are also interested in making an offer for Ezri Konsa, who has yet to agree on a contract extension with Villa.

The validity of the situation regarding Konsa rests on the Gunners’ prior hesitance to submit a bid for Rogers.

Collomosse’s article casts doubt on the likelihood of a deal materializing, suggesting that a significant valuation gap separates the clubs at this moment.

The report mentions that Konsa could still extend his current contract, which has two years remaining, with Aston Villa.

Isaan Khan confirmed reports that Arsenal is preparing a bid for Konsa, noting the ongoing valuation gap. Previously, Matt Law suggested that Konsa could be valued at around £60 million, a figure that exceeds Arsenal’s budget for the player.

Law’s reporting indicates that Mikel Arteta is behind the interest in Konsa, although initial interest was deemed ‘tentative.’

Recent bid discussions might indicate an escalation in their pursuit, especially after concerns emerged over William Saliba‘s potential sidelining.

Arsenal’s interest in Konsa appears focused on his versatility, as he can fill roles at both centre-back and right-back. While most of his career has been spent centrally, Konsa has also made 66 appearances as a right-back, offering depth in both positions.

The Gunners have faced injury challenges in these areas, making another addition potentially beneficial.
