RC Lens Secures Mezian Mesloub’s First Professional Contract
RC Lens has successfully secured the future of 16-year-old attacking midfielder Mezian Mesloub, fending off competition from SL Benfica. The young talent is set to sign his first professional contract with the French club, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Mesloub, who progressed through the Lens youth ranks, made a notable professional debut in May, coming off the bench to score the decisive goal just five seconds into his appearance in a 1-0 victory against FC Nantes.
The report highlights that securing Mesloub’s professional contract was a top priority for Les Sang et Or this summer. The French-born athlete, who also holds Portuguese and Algerian nationality, attracted interest from various clubs, including Benfica, which reportedly made him a contract offer, and PSV Eindhoven.
In his latest outing, Mesloub contributed significantly to Lens’s first preseason match, scoring twice as the team triumphed 4-1 over US Boulogne CO.
