Arsenal Secures Enhanced Kit and Stadium Naming Rights Deal with Emirates

Sam Wallace reports for The Telegraph that Arsenal have extended their sponsorship agreement with Emirates two years early, securing a ‘significant increase’ on their current £45m-a-year deal.

The current deal lasts until 2028, but outgoing chief commercial officer Juliet Slot agreed an extension in one of her final acts of business at Arsenal. Slot will depart the club later this year.

Wallace reports that the deal is understood to include the naming rights for the stadium and the front-of-shirt sponsor for both the men’s and women’s teams. At this stage, Arsenal and Emirates are declining to comment.

Gary Jacob reports for The Times that the new deal could be worth around £70m plus bonuses of up to £15m, depending on Arsenal’s success in domestic and international competitions.

Arsenal have already been sponsored by Emirates for 20 years now, and the existing deal to 2028 would have taken that to 22. It remains to be seen just how long the new agreement will last.

The stadium naming rights deal had been agreed in 2012, and the kit deal was agreed in 2023, but both were set to expire in two years.

So that put Arsenal in a position to negotiate both extensions at once, or to offer up the attractive proposition of both stadium naming and shirt rights to an alternative sponsor. It seems Emirates have agreed to increase their fee to retain their partnership with the club.

Arsenal should provide official confirmation in due course, but if the reports are correct, it’s another financial boost for the club after a strong season of progress on and off the pitch.

The fans will hope that leads to a little more transfer business before the summer is over.
