Manchester City are reportedly intensifying their efforts to secure Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille. With uncertainty around Rodri’s long-term future at the club, Bouaddi is seen as a promising successor to one of the club’s most influential midfielders. Reports indicate that the FA Cup and Carabao Cup champions have reached an agreement on personal terms with Bouaddi and are actively working to finalize the transfer this summer.

Manchester City have agreed personal terms with Ayyoub Bouaddi while negotiating with Lille.

Transfer journalist Nicolò Schira has reported that Manchester City have tentatively agreed on personal terms with Ayyoub Bouaddi. Should he join City, Bouaddi would sign a contract extending until 2031. City is also engaged in discussions with Lille regarding the transfer, seeking to fend off interest from two other prominent European clubs vying for the 18-year-old Moroccan talent.

City are making significant moves to strengthen their midfield this summer.

Manchester City has already secured their first major midfield addition of the summer, having signed Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. The England international is expected to play a crucial role for Enzo Maresca’s squad in the upcoming season. City now turns their attention to Bouaddi, aiming to enhance their midfield further with this potential signing.

Sam Lee has reported for The Athletic that Bouaddi is viewed by Manchester City as a potential deep-lying playmaker in their midfield. City appreciates Bouaddi’s physicality and ability to handle duels, which aligns with the demands of the Premier League. However, they recognize the need for him to enhance his performances in the final third. Observations of Bouaddi’s games with Lille and Morocco reveal this area for improvement. At just 18, the belief from Manchester City in his potential shows their eagerness to bring him to the Premier League.

Manchester City have reportedly settled on personal terms with Ayyoub Bouaddi and are now focused on finalizing the deal with Lille. The outcome of these negotiations will determine if they can secure Bouaddi’s talents, which would significantly elevate the quality of their midfield.
