AS Roma Shows Interest in Chelsea Defender Axel Disasi
AS Roma has made inquiries about Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi, according to a report from Foot Mercato. The 28-year-old Frenchman spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United, where he was a key player under manager Nuno Espirito Santo. However, despite his efforts, Disasi could not help the Hammers avoid relegation to the EFL Championship.
Following his return to Chelsea, Disasi remains under contract until June 2029. The Blues, looking to part ways with the former AS Monaco defender, have noted that a club competing in the Champions League may be interested in acquiring him.
Indeed, AS Roma, who secured a third-place finish last season in Serie A, have reached out to Chelsea regarding Disasi. The Giallorossi have also initiated discussions with the player’s entourage. Chelsea, simultaneously trying to sign fellow French international centre-back Maxence Lacroix, has set a price tag of €20 million on Disasi.
