Brajan Gruda Secures Fresh Loan to RB Leipzig After Impressive Pre-Season Performance
After scoring the winning goal in RB Leipzig’s first pre-season friendly of the summer, Brajan Gruda addressed his renewed loan to the Bundesliga side. The Brighton professional initially joined the German Red Bulls on a six-month arrangement in January 2025.
The Germany U21 international’s contributions of three goals and three assists in 11 Bundesliga appearances last year made RB eager to keep him. Fortunately, the Seagulls were willing to negotiate a new loan.

Brajan Gruda’s new loan contains a €30m purchase option
If Gruda maintains his form, Leipzig will be ready to invest in a permanent transfer. Brighton will also benefit from performance bonuses if Gruda continues to produce during the upcoming 2026/27 Bundesliga season.
Gruda’s significance extends beyond scoring; with attacking talents like Yan Diomande and Antonio Nusa likely leaving the club this summer, he serves as an important insurance policy.
His new loan cost Leipzig only a modest €1m fee.

“I really like players like him,” Demichelis told reporters after Leipzig’s 1-2 away victory over VSG Altglienicke this past weekend, as quoted by Kicker. “One needs players like him to keep quality ball possession.“
Gruda happy to be with Leipzig in the Bundesliga
“I was quick to remain here in Leipzig,” Gruda stated. “I actually kept my apartment because I knew I wanted to be here.“
