Jürgen Klopp Appointed Head Coach of the German National Team
Jürgen Klopp is back on the bench after being announced as the new head coach of the German national team.
During a press conference on Friday, the DFB confirmed that the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss is the man who has been chosen to replace Julian Nagelsmann, who stepped away after another disappointing World Cup performance that saw Germany eliminated by Paraguay in the last 32 stage.
Klopp, who joins after a stint as the Head of Global Soccer with the Red Bull group, takes over on a deal which will see him through the European Championship in 2028 and World Cup in 2030.

It represents his first coaching role since leaving Liverpool in 2024 after a hugely successful period in charge at Anfield.
Klopp’s arrival is part of several changes at the German football federation, with Per Mertesacker also set to take over as technical director, a position he will formally take up in January 2027.
