Headline: Real Madrid Keeps Options Open for Additional Midfielder Before Transfer Window Closes

Real Madrid’s summer transfer activity could still see further developments, despite the club having already signed six new players. While it initially seemed that the search for a new midfielder was concluding, the possibility of another signing remains.

Josep Pedrerol, as reported by Madrid Zone, suggests that if Real Madrid chooses to make another addition ahead of the transfer window closing, it will likely be a midfielder. However, any potential acquiring would be contingent upon player departures, as the current squad is already full, limiting the club’s ability to accommodate more new arrivals.

    Rodri Setback Raises New Questions

Throughout the summer, Real Madrid pursued a midfielder who could effectively organize play from deeper positions. Rodri was viewed as a key target, but the team ultimately opted not to chase the Spain international, who has since signed with Barcelona, effectively terminating Real Madrid’s interest.

This decision appeared to resolve the matter. However, recent statements imply the club may still consider bringing in a new midfielder. Reports indicate that while Real Madrid is generally satisfied with the midfield options available to head coach Jose Mourinho, the door is not entirely shut on the possibility of a new signing.

Should the right circumstances arise, Real Madrid could revisit the idea of adding another midfielder before the transfer window closes. The critical issue facing the club is not the absence of targets; rather, it is managing the squad size effectively.

With six transfers already complete, Real Madrid cannot pursue further signings without first allowing player departures. Consequently, shedding a player would be a significant initial step before any new endeavors can realistically be pursued.

In this context, Martin Zubimendi has resurfaced as a topic of interest for Real Madrid in recent weeks. The Arsenal midfielder has garnered the attention of Mourinho, who holds a strong admiration for the Spanish international. Although Arsenal does not appear to be actively encouraging Zubimendi’s exit, reports indicate that they might be open to considering a reasonable offer.

While this development could pose an opportunity for Real Madrid, there are still challenges to overcome. Eduardo Camavinga has faced speculation regarding a potential departure, but presently, there are no signals indicating his desire to leave the club. The same holds true for the rest of the squad; unless circumstances change, Mourinho will need to rely on the midfielders currently at his disposal.

Real Madrid’s summer business may not be over yet.

Despite already bringing in six new players and previously appearing ready to close their midfield search, the possibility of another signing remains alive.

According to Josep Pedrerol (h/t Madrid Zone), if Real Madrid make one more addition before the transfer window closes, it is expected to be a midfielder.

However, any potential move would depend heavily on departures, as Real Madrid’s current squad is already packed, and without creating space, the club would struggle to accommodate another new arrival.

    Rodri setback reopened questions

For much of the summer, Real Madrid were linked with the search for a midfielder capable of organising play from deeper areas.

Rodri was seen as the standout target, but Los Blancos eventually decided not to pursue the Spain international. The World Cup winner instead moved to Barcelona, bringing an end to Real Madrid’s interest.

Real Madrid were said to be satisfied with the midfield options already available to Jose Mourinho and did not see an urgent need to enter the market again.

But Pedrerol’s latest information suggests the door has not been completely closed.

If the right circumstances emerge, Real Madrid could still revisit the idea of adding another midfielder before the window shuts.

However, the problem is not identifying a target – it is finding room in the squad.

With six signings already completed, Real Madrid cannot continue adding players without first reducing the number of available options.

Hence, a departure would be the first step before any new operation could realistically move forward.

On that note, Martin Zubimendi is one name that has returned to the Real Madrid conversation in recent weeks.

The Arsenal midfielder has attracted Mourinho’s attention, with the Portuguese coach said to be a strong admirer of the Spanish international.

Arsenal are not believed to be actively pushing Zubimendi towards the exit. However, reports suggest they would be willing to consider an appropriate offer rather than completely ruling out a sale.

That could potentially open a door for Real Madrid, but the bigger obstacle remains closer to home.

Eduardo Camavinga has been linked with a possible departure, but there is currently no indication that the Frenchman wants to leave.

The same applies to the rest of the squad, and unless that changes, Mourinho will have to work with the midfielders already at his disposal.
