Moreira Reflects on Milan’s Best Game Yet as Pulisic Shines Against Inter

Milan Triumphs in Derby with Strong Performances from Moreira and Pulisic

Diego Moreira expressed his excitement following what he deemed his best performance for AC Milan, contributing significantly with a goal and two assists in the recent 3-1 victory over Inter. His teammate, Christian Pulisic, humorously noted his remarkable record against their rivals.

The Derby della Madonnina commenced with a burst of energy, as AC Milan established a quick 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes. The initial goals came from Pulisic’s header and a strike by Adrien Rabiot, both assisted by Moreira.

The Belgium international solidified his Man of the Match accolade with a stunning free kick, sealing the scoreline at 3-1.

Moreira commented on the match, stating, “I am very happy, with my teammates we did a great job, we fought to earn the three points.” He emphasized the importance of staying focused throughout the season as they continue to progress.

“It’s still early in the season; we need to take it step by step. For now, it is my best game in the Milan shirt,” he added.

Before the match, AC Milan legend Kaká made an emotional appearance in the stands and was inducted into the Milan Hall of Fame. The Brazilian was visibly moved as he acknowledged the crowd.

Reflecting on his performance in front of Kaká, who wore the same number 22 jersey, Moreira stated, “Thank you for coming and giving me your shirt; I am very happy!”

Pulisic, now experienced in this rivalry, opened the scoring just four minutes into the match. He remarked, “We started very strong with intensity, physicality, scored two goals, and then the third before half-time. This victory is very important for us.”

The American forward has scored in four separate editions of this derby, and notably, Milan has won each of those matches. “I want to continue scoring goals in the derby so that way we’ll win! These are three very important points, but we’ve got to find this consistency to play like this all the time,” he added, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high performance in crucial games.
