Milan Celebrates Kaká’s Hall of Fame Induction with Derby Victory Over Inter
Milan fans relished a memorable Saturday (31) as one of the greatest players in the club’s history, Kaká, was honored with induction into the club’s Hall of Fame before the highly anticipated Derby della Madonnina against Inter.
In front of a full San Siro, AC Milan broke their rivals’ unbeaten streak in the current Serie A season, securing a 3-1 victory.
Belgian Diogo Moreira showcased his skills donning the same No. 22 shirt that made Kaká famous.
This victory marks Milan’s third consecutive win against Inter in Serie A.
Additionally, the team remains unbeaten in eight matches against their rivals across all competitions.
The ‘Bambino d’Oro’ Returns
Milan kicked off the festivities by airing a video highlighting Kaká’s remarkable goals against Inter.
Emotions were palpable as Kaká recreated one of his iconic celebrations from his time in Milan.
He was presented with a well-deserved plaque commemorating his contributions to the club.
Already a World Cup champion with Brazil and a star at São Paulo, Kaká joined Milan on August 15, 2003.
At just 21 years old, he transferred from São Paulo for $8.5 million, a fee Milan’s owner at that time, Silvio Berlusconi, referred to as “peanuts.”
In his competitive debut, he made an immediate impact, relegating players like Rui Costa, Seedorf, and Rivaldo to the bench.
Kaká would leave a lasting legacy, making 307 appearances, scoring 104 goals, and providing 81 assists over two stints with the team.
After narrowly losing to Liverpool in the 2004/05 Champions League, he led Milan to victory two years later.
He also won the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2007 and remains the last Milan player to achieve this honor.

In July 2009, he transferred to Real Madrid for €67 million, later returning on a free transfer for the 2013/2014 season.
Diogo Moreira Shines in the Derby
In a turn of events, it was Milan’s No. 22, Diogo Moreira, who made a significant impact in the derby.
A product of Benfica’s academy, Moreira joined the Rossoneri after two seasons with Strasbourg.
He dominated the game, assisting goals for Pulisic (4′) and Rabiot (10′).
Inter managed to respond with a goal from Bastoni in the 22nd minute, but Moreira struck again himself, scoring from a brilliant free kick just before halftime (43′).
Milan, now under the guidance of Ruben Amorim, climbed to 21 points, currently positioned fourth in the table.
In contrast, Inter remains at 25 points and faces the risk of Lazio, who are tied on points, gaining ground at the top.
