Hearts to Be Without Miller for Two Months Amid Injury Crisis

Headline: Heart of Midlothian Faces Injury Challenges Ahead of Conference League Match

Heart of Midlothian will be missing winger Calvin Miller for two months, following a knee injury that will require surgery. This injury occurred during the recent Premier Sports Cup semi-final defeat to Hibernian on Sunday.

Additionally, midfielder Thomas Magnusson will be unavailable until after the international break due to a concussion sustained in the first half of the match at Hampden Park.

These setbacks add to Hearts’ extensive injury list, prompting head coach Wouter Vrancken to bring only 19 players to Switzerland for Thursday’s Conference League match against Thun, leaving them six players short of the usual maximum squad size of 25.

The losses of Miller and Magnusson contribute to a total of 10 first-team players currently sidelined due to injury. Hearts initially took the lead at Hampden Park, but Magnusson was forced to leave the field after just 14 minutes. Miller, who had assisted Claudio Braga’s opening goal, also exited the game prematurely, departing for the dressing room at the 37-minute mark, shortly before Hibs turned the match around to take a 2-1 lead.

Prior to his injury, the uncapped 28-year-old Miller was seen by some as a potential candidate for inclusion in the latest Scotland squad, which had recently been announced by Vrancken’s compatriot, Sebastien Pocognoli, following the call-up of winger Josh McPake and striker James Wilson last month.
