Villarreal Targets David Mokwa for Winter Transfer Window
Villarreal CF has identified SV Elversberg’s 22-year-old striker, David Mokwa, as one of their main targets for the upcoming winter transfer window, according to a report by L’Équipe.
Mokwa began his career at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard before moving to TSG Hoffenheim in 2022, where he made his professional debut in January 2025. Following a transfer to Elversberg the next year, he played a pivotal role in the club’s promotion to Germany’s top flight, notably scoring twice against Münster on the final matchday of the 2. Bundesliga.
Now an essential player for head coach Vincent Wagner, Mokwa has already recorded two goals and one assist in his first seven Bundesliga appearances this season. His strong performances have garnered attention from various prominent European clubs, particularly Villarreal, which aims to enhance its squad.
Recently named in the France Under-21s squad for upcoming matches against Italy and England, Mokwa remains contracted with the Schwarz und Weiß until 2029.
