Atlético and Grêmio Reveal Line-ups for Copa do Brasil Final Spot

Headline: Grêmio and Atlético-MG Prepare for Copa do Brasil Semifinal Showdown

Atlético-MG and Grêmio will meet this Saturday (7) at Arena MRV at 6 p.m. (Brasília time) for the second leg of the 2026 Copa do Brasil semifinals.

Grêmio holds a advantageous position after winning the first leg 2–0 in Porto Alegre. They can afford to lose by one goal and still secure a spot in the final of the national tournament.

In contrast, Atlético requires a three-goal victory to progress to the final.

If Atlético-MG were to win by a two-goal margin, the match would move to penalties to determine the winner.

Both teams enter this match following defeats in the Brasileirão, having used reserve or rotated lineups during midweek games.

Grêmio lost 3–1 to Flamengo, while Atlético faced a 1–0 defeat against Botafogo.

For this pivotal clash, Atlético coach Eduardo Domínguez made several changes from the first leg, bringing in Everson, Natanael, Vitão, Igor Gomes, and Alan Minda to replace Gabriel Delfim, Leonardo Duarte, Lyanco, Maycon, and Victor Hugo, respectively.

On the other hand, Grêmio coach Renato Portaluppi made only one change, inserting Kannemann in place of Gustavo Martins.

Grêmio, with five titles (1989, 1994, 1997, 2001, and 2016), ranks as the second-most successful club in Copa do Brasil history and aims for a sixth trophy to match Cruzeiro.

Atlético-MG has celebrated victory in the tournament twice, securing wins in 2014 against Cruzeiro and in 2021 while completing a domestic treble.
