Real Madrid Emerges Favorite for JJ Gabriel as Barcelona Targets Niko Ilicevic
The ongoing competition for the future of JJ Gabriel has intensified, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona vying for the young talent in recent months. Reports suggest that Real Madrid now holds the upper hand in the pursuit of the Manchester United youth star, positioning themselves as the frontrunners to complete the transfer of the promising player.
This development represents a significant setback for Barcelona, as they look to secure one of the most highly-rated talents to emerge from the United academy in recent years. Nevertheless, Barcelona appears resolute in their efforts to rebound from this loss.
Barcelona Targeting Niko Ilicevic
In response to Real Madrid’s maneuvering for Gabriel, Barcelona has turned its attention to another rising star in football—Niko Ilicevic. As reported by Diario SPORT, the Catalan club is keeping a close watch on Ilicevic, an exciting young midfielder currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt’s reserve team, who has recently made his debut in the Bundesliga.
Barcelona is among various clubs monitoring the 16-year-old’s progress, including several Premier League and Serie A teams, as well as Real Madrid.
Ilicevic’s Contract Situation at Eintracht
Although Ilicevic is quickly gaining attention in the Bundesliga, securing his services poses challenges, given the interest from other top European clubs. However, Barcelona finds hope in Ilicevic’s contract situation with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The young player is reportedly open to discussing a new contract that would not only fairly compensate him but also include a reasonable exit clause. This clause could facilitate a move for potential suitors like Barcelona. Currently, the club is only observing Ilicevic’s progression and has not initiated an offer.
As Ilicevic continues to develop in the Bundesliga, all eyes will be on his performance for the remainder of the season.
