Crystal Palace to Sack Pierre Sage After Loss to Liverpool

Crystal Palace Plans to Part Ways with Manager Pierre Sage After Liverpool Defeat

Crystal Palace will reportedly end their relationship with manager Pierre Sage following the team’s 1-3 loss against Liverpool on Sunday, according to information from The Athletic.

Currently at the bottom of the Premier League table and having the worst defensive record in the league with 24 goals conceded, the London club has only managed to secure two wins out of their ten matches this season. Sage, who took over as Oliver Glasner’s successor last summer, has seen his team win just five of the 15 matches across all competitions, with three draws and seven losses.

Initially signed on a three-year deal, the former managers of Olympique Lyonnais and RC Lens is set to see his time in England—a position he described as his “dream”—end with the upcoming international break.

Thomas Frank and Sean Dyche, both of whom parted ways with their previous clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest respectively, in February, are reportedly among the candidates under consideration to succeed the French manager. Additionally, Frank Lampard, currently managing Coventry City, which sits 17th in the Premier League, is also viewed favorably by the Selhurst Park leadership.
