Liverpool Open Talks to Sign Star Dribbler Haissem Hassan

Liverpool have entered talks to sign one of the best dribblers on the planet.

Liverpool stand on the edge of what could be the most significant summer the club has experienced in years.

This isn’t just another transfer window or another managerial change. It marks the beginning of a complete reset, with almost every major pillar of the club set to change at the same time.

The appointment of Andoni Iraola serves as the clearest sign of that shift. After Arne Slot’s departure, Liverpool haven’t simply looked for a replacement—they’ve chosen a manager with a completely different footballing philosophy.

Iraola’s reputation relies on intensity, fearless pressing and lightning-fast transitions. His teams play with aggression and purpose, demanding extraordinary physical and tactical commitment from every player on the pitch.

That inevitably means Liverpool are preparing for more than just a change in leadership.

They’re preparing for a change in identity. The style of play, the training ground, the recruitment strategy and even the profiles of players the club targets will likely evolve under Iraola. Success won’t simply depend on his coaching—it will depend on whether the squad can adapt to the demands of his system.

At the same time, Liverpool are saying goodbye to the players who helped define one of the club’s greatest modern eras. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konaté have all departed, taking with them an enormous amount of quality, leadership and experience. These aren’t ordinary exits—they’re the departures of players who shaped Liverpool’s identity for years.

Replacing them won’t be straightforward. Salah’s goals and creativity, Robertson’s leadership and Konaté’s defensive presence cannot simply be replicated by one or two signings. Instead, Liverpool face the challenge of rebuilding several key areas of the squad simultaneously.

That’s what makes this summer feel so pivotal. Liverpool aren’t tweaking a squad that’s close to competing—they’re laying the foundations for an entirely new project. The recruitment team now carries enormous responsibility. Every decision could shape the club’s direction for years to come.

There’s obvious risk in making so many changes at once, but there’s also huge opportunity. If Liverpool get this rebuild right, they won’t just replace an ageing core—they’ll create the foundations for the next successful era at Anfield. If they don’t, this transition could prove far more difficult than anyone anticipated.

And it looks like Liverpool could be preparing a blockbuster move.

According to a report in Fichajes in Spain, the Reds are now looking to sign Haissem Hassan. They write the following:

“Liverpool have entered into formal talks with Real Oviedo to sign Haissem Hassan in the summer transfer window of 2026, a lightning-fast move with which the Anfield club seeks to bolster its attacking options following the painful departure of Mohamed Salah,” the report reads.

“The British club’s management intends to capitalize on Asturias’ relegation to the Spanish second division to acquire the 24-year-old French-Egyptian winger for less than the €12 million stipulated in his original release clause.

“The Tolosa-born coach believes that Haissem Hassan’s direct style will inject the necessary dynamism and attacking flair to revitalise the team off the bench.”

    Why is this so significant?

Well, Liverpool need pace and one vs one ability, and Hassan is one of the best dribblers on the planet. The statistics confirm this.

As per Scoutlabs, Hassan ranks in the 99th percentile for productive dribbles and FotMob also has him ranked in the 94th percentile for successful dribbles. This puts him among the upper echelons of the top dribblers on the planet right now.

Hassan showcased this ability against Argentina at the World Cup, and now he could continue to show his quality for Liverpool.
