After trailing 2-1 from last week’s first leg in Belfast, the Irish Premiership team’s challenge intensified when they conceded a goal just five minutes into the match, as Modou Saidy found the net.
Following some effective play down the left flank, the ball was laid back to the edge of the area for a shot, which was saved but fell to Saidy, who scored from five yards.
Janis Ikavnieks extended RFS’s lead 16 minutes into the second half at LNK Sporta Parks in Riga, sealing Glentoran’s early exit from the competition.
Goalkeeper Billy Crellin attempted to pass to his defender but slipped, allowing RFS to break through on goal.
After the ball was squared, Ikaunieks tapped it in from eight yards.

Jordan Stewart made an early attempt for the visitors, while Pat Hoban also came close with a header that went just wide in the first half.
In the second half, Marcus Kane, who came on as a first-half substitute for the injured Daniel Larmour, appeared to have scored but was ruled to have handled the ball.
Lasha Odisharia had a shot go over for RFS, while late in the match, Saidy nearly secured a second goal, but his effort from 10 yards missed the left-hand upright.
