Eintracht Frankfurt’s new head coach Adi Hütter has praised the performances of 20-year-old Germany U21 fullback Elias Baum during training camp. Hütter noted Baum’s potential, which has been highlighted by interest from several other Bundesliga clubs.
Last season, Baum made only five substitute appearances, primarily coming in late during matches. This year, however, he may have a better opportunity to shine.

With the recent departures of Nathaniel Brown to Bayern Munich and Rasmus Kristensen to FC Midtjylland, Eintracht Frankfurt faces a need for reinforcement on both flanks. Given the team’s struggles with defense last season, Baum’s contributions could be vital.
While he is primarily a right-back, Baum has experience on the left side and could provide support to struggling teammate Nnamdi Collins.
Currently valued at €4 million, Baum remains in demand both within Germany and internationally. Reports from Sport Bild indicate that discussions over a transfer to Ajax have been paused due to his strong performance in training camp. Frankfurt, in turn, is reassessing its search for a new right-back, offering Baum a chance to prove himself further.

Hütter’s Thoughts on Baum
Hütter commented on Baum, saying, “Elias has power, punch, and drive. That’s why I’m not surprised that other clubs are interested in him. He’s a workhorse and always covers ground. He needs to channel that into more tangible results, especially when it comes to crosses.“
