Stuttgart Increases Offer for Wolfsburg Striker Dzenan Pejcinovic to €22 million

The Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung reports that VfB Stuttgart have upped their offer for Wolfsburg striker Dzenan Pejcinovic to €22 million, inclusive of bonus payments. This increase comes after Stuttgart’s earlier €18 million bid was rejected by the German Wolves, who are now expected to finalize the deal. The WAZ claims that Pejcinovic’s agent is currently en route to Stuttgart’s training camp to conclude negotiations.

Will Dzenan Pejcinovic move to Stuttgart?

It appears that there are no major obstacles preventing Pejcinovic from spending this season in the German top flight. The 21-year-old scored 12 goals across all competitions for relegated Wolfsburg last season, generating interest from several other clubs. However, rumors linking him to other Bundesliga teams, such as Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen, seem unsubstantiated.

Interest from Benfica was reportedly rebuffed by Pejcinovic himself, as the Germany U21 international prefers to remain in the Bundesliga. Stuttgart offers the Munich native a chance to play in the Champions League next season. Meanwhile, Wolfsburg, having secured considerable attacking options ahead of their 2. Bundesliga campaign, will likely take the opportunity to generate revenue.
