Harrogate Town has secured the signing of Middlesbrough defender Archie Baptiste for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract.

The 20-year-old joined Middlesbrough last June after progressing through Tottenham’s academy, where he made one appearance in the Championship.

Last season, he ended up on loan with Rochdale but did not make any appearances for the club.

“He’s eager to get that opportunity to play men’s football and both parties feel it’s a good fit, so hopefully he can progress and do well for himself,” said head of player recruitment Lloyd Kerry told the club website.
