Napoli Pursues Gabriel Jesus as Arsenal Sets €20 Million Price Tag

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte reported Thursday that Serie A club Napoli is keen on acquiring Gabriel Jesus, with Arsenal reportedly setting a minimum price of €20 million (£17.2 million).

All parties are currently assessing the terms of the potential deal, with no significant progress in negotiations as of yet. However, Napoli’s interest is described as ‘very strong,’ and Jesus is said to consider the move as a viable option.

Gianluca Di Marzio later confirmed that Napoli has reached out to Jesus’ representatives, noting that head coach Massimiliano Allegri has long been an admirer of the player. Jesus is viewed as a potential replacement should Lorenzo Lucca and Romelu Lukaku depart the squad.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli has initiated discussions with Jesus’ camp, while Arsenal has made it clear they will only entertain a permanent transfer, not a loan arrangement. Given that Jesus’ contract runs until 2027, this approach seems reasonable.

Romano also highlighted that both Jesus and Allegri are represented by the same agency.

Sky Sport Italia has mentioned that the situation could evolve into a more definitive agreement shortly, reiterating that Napoli is analyzing the terms of the deal while addressing potential exits for Lucca and Lukaku.

In his limited appearances against Italian teams in the Champions League, Jesus has performed well, scoring three goals and providing one assist in five matches, averaging 84.5 minutes per goal contribution. If he can replicate this form over a full Serie A season, he could prove to be a significant asset for Napoli.

Napoli are interested in signing Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal this summer, but the Gunners are ready to set a firm stance over the terms of such a deal.

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte broke the news on Thursday that Serie A club Napoli are looking to sign Gabriel Jesus, with Arsenal asking for a minimum fee of €20m (£17.2m).

The terms of the deal are reportedly being evaluated by all parties, with no progress yet in negotiations. But Napoli’s interest is described as ‘very strong’, and Jesus reportedly considers it a possibility for him.

Gianluca Di Marzio then confirmed that Napoli are talking to Jesus’ entourage, and head coach Massimiliano Allegri is a long-term fan of the player. Jesus is reportedly considered a potential solution if Lorenzo Lucca and Romelu Lukaku leave.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Napoli have indeed made contact with Jesus’ camp, with Arsenal insisting they’ll only consider a permanent move, not a loan. Jesus’ contract ends in 2027, so that makes sense.

Romano points out that Jesus and Allegri are represented by the same agency.

Sky Sport Italia that the situation could materialise into something more concrete in the coming hours, again repeating that Napoli are evaluating the terms of a deal as they work on exits for Lucca and Lukaku.

Jesus has had a good record in his limited games against Serie A opposition in the Champions League. He’s appeared against Italian opponents five times, scoring three goals and assisting one, averaging 84.5 minutes per goal contribution.

If the striker could maintain anything close to that average in a full Serie A season, he’d be a massive success at Napoli.
