Schalke 04 put some pressure on Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi and even hit the woodwork with Karaman before Samardzic scored on a quick counter-attack.

Carnesecchi made another crucial save from Adamu, but Krstovic’s brilliant footwork sealed Atalanta’s 3-0 triumph.

In another match, Sassuolo concluded their pre-season in Germany, where they battled Augsburg in a high-scoring affair. Andrea Pinamonti converted an early penalty received by Josh Doig, and Cristian Volpato netted a spectacular solo goal by outmaneuvering the goalkeeper.

However, Augsburg responded decisively, with goals from Fellhauer and Kade, highlighting issues with goalkeeper Arijanet Muric when dealing with crosses.

Behrens completed Augsburg’s comeback, leading to a 3-2 victory for the German side.
