Headline: Mason Mount Likely to Miss Pre-Season Match Against Leeds

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is likely to miss Wednesday’s pre-season match against Leeds at Croke Park.

Mount has impressed in United’s initial three pre-season fixtures, showcasing his skills in the number eight position, with new signing Andrey Santos providing support.

Unfortunately, he faced a setback after being kicked on the foot during the early stages of Saturday’s draw with Paris St-Germain in Gothenburg.

While head coach Michael Carrick noted that Mount was substituted in the first half as a precaution, reports indicate that the 27-year-old has not participated in training since the match. His availability for the Leeds game remains in doubt.

It is unclear if Mount will be fit for Saturday’s final pre-season encounter against Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan in Wroclaw.

Meanwhile, Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez has been training since his arrival at United’s six-day camp in the Republic of Ireland, recovering from an injury sustained during the first half of the World Cup final.

England players Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo have also resumed training this week, but it remains uncertain whether Carrick considers them ready for action against Leeds.

This match marks the first instance of two English football teams playing at the historic venue, the home of the Gaelic Athletic Association.

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is set to miss Wednesday’s pre-season encounter with Leeds at Croke Park.

Mount was outstanding in United’s first three pre-season games, operating in the number eight role, with new signing Andrey Santos just behind.

However, he was kicked on the foot in the early minutes of Saturday’s draw with Paris St-Germain in Gothenburg.

Although head coach Michael Carrick said he took Mount off in the first half as a precaution, and the 27-year-old was walking freely when he made his way to the team coach after the game, it is understood he has not trained since and is unlikely to play against Leeds.

It is not known whether Mount will be available for Saturday’s final pre-season game against Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan in Wroclaw on Saturday.

England duo Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo have also trained this week, although it is not known whether Carrick will feel they have had sufficient time on the training pitch to feature against Leeds.

The game will be the first time two English association football teams will have played at the historic home of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
