Winger Benny Benagr has signed a new contract, securing his future with Luton Town.

The 18-year-old made headlines by scoring his first goal during his senior debut for the Hatters in their 3-0 win at Gillingham in the first round of the EFL Cup on Saturday.

Benagr has been a part of Luton’s youth academy since he was in the Under-9s.

“The last few weeks have been a bit crazy, but I’ve enjoyed it so much and I’m hungry to keep learning,” he told Luton’s website.

“Benny has dealt with everything that’s been thrown at him in recent weeks,” said Luton boss Jack Wilshere. “He’s taken everything in his stride, and scoring the goal on Saturday was a reward for his hard work, but this contract isn’t a result of that.

“It was already in place because he’s shown in a very short space of time exactly why the academy coaches rate him so highly.”

The club has not disclosed the length of Benagr’s new deal.
