Headline: Tottenham Hotspur Pursues Omar Marmoush and Savinho Amid Squad Revamp

Tottenham Hotspur is showing interest in players Omar Marmoush and Savinho as they consider strengthening their squad with two new signings from Manchester City.

Savinho has been a long-term target for Spurs, who contemplated a £50 million move for the Brazilian winger last summer. In addition to Savinho, the club is also keen on acquiring Marmoush, as manager Roberto De Zerbi aims to enhance his attacking options and continue the significant overhaul of a squad that narrowly avoided relegation last season.

Marmoush, who transferred to City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for £59 million, has netted 16 goals in 62 matches for the club. However, he only made eight starts in the Premier League last season. Conversely, Savinho, who arrived from City’s sister club Troyes in 2024, started just seven matches, scoring seven goals in 84 appearances.

In the recent Community Shield match against Arsenal, Savinho did not make the bench, while Marmoush participated as a substitute, playing for the final 37 minutes.

Manchester City has already raised approximately £160 million this summer through the sales of players such as Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, James Trafford, and Nathan Ake. That figure could increase further if both Marmoush and Savinho leave. The club is also in discussions with Newcastle regarding a potential deal for Nico Gonzalez.

Having recently broken their transfer record by acquiring Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116 million, City is preparing to invest heavily again to fill gaps in midfield after the departures of Rodri and Reijnders. They are currently in talks with Lille over Ayyoub Bouaddi and are also showing interest in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.

On the other hand, Tottenham has set new transfer records for midfielders Mateus Fernandes at £85 million and Sandro Tonali, whose fee could rise to £100 million. They have also secured centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for £52 million, alongside signing defenders Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson on free transfers.

Recently, Spurs generated around £72 million through the sales of defenders, including Cristian Romero to Atletico Madrid, Djed Spence to Inter Milan, and Ashley Phillips to Middlesbrough.

Tottenham are interested in Omar Marmoush as well as Savinho as they could make two signings from Manchester City.

Savinho is a long-term target for Spurs, who considered a £50m move for the Brazilian winger last summer.

But they are also keen on Marmoush as Roberto De Zerbi looks to strengthen his forward line and continue his expensive revamp of a squad who only just avoided relegation last season.

Marmoush joined City in January 2025 from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59m and has gone on to score 16 goals in 62 games for them.

However, the Egypt international only started eight Premier League matches last season while Savinho, a 2024 arrival from City’s sister club Troyes, began just seven.

The 22-year-old has scored seven goals in 84 appearances for City but was pushed down the pecking order after the January signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Savinho did not make the bench for Sunday’s Community Shield defeat to Arsenal whereas Marmoush, who has served as a striking alternative to Erling Haaland, came on for the final 37 minutes.

City have already brought in around £160m this summer by selling Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, James Trafford and Nathan Ake and that sum could rise if Marmoush and Savinho leave, while they are also in talks with Newcastle about a potential deal for Nico Gonzalez.

But, having broken their transfer record to buy Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116m, they are set to spend heavily again in midfield as they look for replacements for Rodri and Reijnders. They are in talks with Lille over Ayyoub Bouaddi and are also interested in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have broken their transfer record twice to sign midfielders Mateus Fernandes, for £85m, and Sandro Tonali, for a fee rising to £100m.

They have also bought centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for £52m as well as bringing in fellow defenders Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson on free transfers.

Spurs have brought in around £72m by selling defenders this week, with Cristian Romero joining Atletico Madrid, Djed Spence going to Inter Milan and Ashley Phillips moving to Middlesbrough.
