Headline: Manchester City Takes Interest in Liverpool’s Transfer Target Allan Elias

Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate also left L4 and, while their absences will certainly have an impact on the way that the Reds play, neither of them made as much of a difference as Salah.

The Egyptian King has been the Reds’ main attacking outlet since he joined the club in 2017 with his performance in the 2024-25 season the best of his career so far.

However, due to multiple fallouts with Arne Slot and the Dutchman not playing to the 33-year-old’s strengths, his situation in Liverpool became untenable which is why he chose to terminate his contract a year early.

Most fans thought sourcing Salah’s replacement would be the Reds’ main priority but, after Yan Diomande chose Real Madrid over Liverpool, they have focused everything on Bradley Barcola who’s still nowhere near becoming a Liverpool player yet.

This has led to many other wingers being linked with an Anfield move, and now, one of Liverpool’s options could be about to be taken away from them.

Manchester City Now Wants to Sign Liverpool Transfer Target Allan Elias

Allan Elias is almost certainly a player that most of Liverpool’s fanbase won’t have heard of.

However, over the last 12 months or so, many different reports have emerged linking the Reds with a deal for the young Brazilian.

The right-winger is 22 years old and currently plays for Palmeiras in Brazil.

Last season, he was one of their best performers as he played 2879 minutes of football altogether.

The performances he displayed caught the attention of Liverpool, and since no recent links with the attacker have emerged, it is unsurprising to see that Manchester City has now entered the picture.

This is especially relevant since they could soon lose Savinho and Omar Marmoush to Tottenham.

“Manchester City risk losing Savinho in the coming days, as he is expected to join Tottenham. The Sky Blues must find a replacement quickly, as the transfer window is about to close,” Foot Mercato wrote.

“According to our information, the Manchester club is still looking towards Brazil. They are interested in Allan Elias, a 22-year-old left-footed right winger who plays for Palmeiras, where he is under contract until December 2029.”

Why Allan Elias Would Have Been a Perfect Player for Liverpool to Sign This Summer

Ultimately, no matter which player Liverpool brings in, there will only ever be one Salah.

At times, it felt like the Egyptian King was an alien with the performances he could deliver.

His blistering pace, combined with his sharp eye for goal, made him the perfect attacker for Liverpool.

He won two Premier League titles and one Champions League with the Anfield club and left a legacy of memories for every supporter.

With his departure, the Reds must prepare for a new era of talent.

While it’s unlikely anyone can replicate Salah’s over 50 goal contributions from the 2024-25 season, if Liverpool can assemble enough quality to spread those goals throughout their attack, they could still find success.

Elias would obviously need some time to adapt to the Premier League, but given Rayan’s rapid success in the league after his move to Bournemouth last January, it remains possible that Elias could do the same.

With City now pursuing Elias, it appears unlikely he will join Liverpool before the transfer deadline.

However, now that he’s gone, the Reds need to gear themselves up for a new era of talent.

Obviously, it’s highly unlikely for anyone to match Salah’s 50 + goal contributions from the 2024-25 season by themselves so, if Liverpool can bring in enough quality to distribute those goals across their attack, they’ll be onto a winner.

Elias would obviously need some time to adapt to the Premier League but, since Rayan quite literally took the league by storm after joining Bournemouth last January, there’s every chance that Elias could do the same.

It’s obviously unclear who’s going to fill the void left by Salah this season but, with City now interested in Elias, it certainly doesn’t feel like the Brazilian will be welcomed through the Anfield doors before deadline day.
