Lazio Revamps Offer for Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti

Lazio is re-evaluating its proposal for Sassuolo striker Andrea Pinamonti following recent discussions, as the initial offer of a €1 million loan with an €8 million option to buy was turned down. Coach Gennaro Gattuso has consistently identified Pinamonti as his primary target; however, the financial demands of the deal have led the club to explore alternative options.

Lazio had considered free agents such as Mauro Icardi and Bamba Dieng to fill the forward position, but Icardi chose to decline their offer, and Dieng was unable to proceed due to failing a medical examination related to a knee injury.

Multiple reports from sources such as Alfredo Pedullà and Gianluca Di Marzio confirm that Pinamonti’s agent recently met with Lazio officials to find a potential solution that would satisfy Sassuolo. Their objective is to reach an agreement that meets the expectations of the Neroverdi, who are reportedly seeking around €4.5 million upfront.

To facilitate any loan agreement, Sassuolo would first need to extend Pinamonti’s contract, which is set to expire in June 2027. The 27-year-old has also drawn interest from Fiorentina and Hull City, but he remains keen on joining Lazio and collaborating with Gattuso. A product of the Inter youth academy, Pinamonti has gained experience at several clubs, including Frosinone, Genoa, Empoli, and Sassuolo.

Lazio are preparing a different offer to Sassuolo for Andrea Pinamonti after fresh meetings, as it’s reported the €1m loan with €8m option to buy was rejected.

The centre-forward has always been the preferred candidate for coach Gennaro Gattuso, but the cost of the operation pushed the club towards other alternatives.

Those included free agents Mauro Icardi and Bamba Dieng, but the former turned them down, and the latter failed his medical test over a knee injury.

Multiple sources today including Alfredo Pedullà and Gianluca Di Marzio confirm that Pinamonti’s agent had a new meeting with Lazio to discuss the situation.

They are trying to work together in order to find a solution that would convince Sassuolo.

Il Messaggero and Tuttomercatoweb suggest the first offer of €1m for the loan and an option to buy for a further €8m was rejected, because the Neroverdi wanted circa €4.5m upfront.

In order to make any loan with option agreement go through, Sassuolo would first have to extend Pinamonti’s current contract, which expires in June 2027.

Also linked with Fiorentina and Hull City, the 27-year-old is eager to come to Lazio and work with Gattuso.

A product of the Inter youth academy, Pinamonti is well-travelled, playing for the likes of Frosinone, Genoa, Empoli and Sassuolo.
