    Palestinian Goalkeeper Salim Al-Ashqar Tragically Dies at 32

    In a heartbreaking development for the football community, Salim Al-Ashqar, a Palestinian goalkeeper, has died at the age of 32. According to Los Reporteros, Al-Ashqar succumbed to injuries sustained from Israeli tank shelling in the Al-Qarara area, northeast of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

    Reports indicate that the tragedy occurred on June 29, 2026, while Al-Ashqar was attempting to refill a gas cylinder for his family. Known for his experience, he played for the Khadamat Khan Younis team and was a key figure known for his talent on the field.

    This loss comes just five months after his wedding, leaving behind a pregnant wife who is anticipating their first child. The news of his death has deeply resonated within the Palestinian football community and among fans, highlighting the ongoing impact of violence on individuals and families.
