Michele Di Gregorio expressed his satisfaction with his loan transfer from Juventus to Bournemouth, citing it as ‘the right decision’ at a ‘very important moment’ in his career and labeling the Premier League as ‘the most beautiful league in the world.’

Di Gregorio’s move to Bournemouth was officially announced by both clubs on Tuesday morning. The agreement includes a loan deal with an option to buy.

Bournemouth confirmed they have paid €1.3 million for the one-season loan, with potential add-ons of €800,000. The option to purchase Di Gregorio is set at €12.7 million, with additional bonuses of €1.5 million.

“I’m very happy to be here. This is a very important moment for me, and that’s why I think the decision to come here to Bournemouth was the right one,” Di Gregorio said in a statement on Bournemouth’s official website.

Di Gregorio shared his enthusiasm further, stating, “I felt the club’s desire to have me here, and I felt the ambition that this club has to continue to grow and do great things. The Premier League is the most beautiful league in the world. It’s an honour for me to be here and to have the chance to play and play at such a high level.”

Throughout his two seasons at Juventus, Di Gregorio amassed 84 goals conceded in 84 matches across all competitions, while recording 36 clean sheets.

He received the title of Best Serie A goalkeeper in the 2023-24 season while on loan at Monza.

Juventus has secured Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham as Di Gregorio’s replacement, bringing him on loan with an option to buy. The club intends to use a similar transfer strategy to acquire Kamil Grabara from Wolfsburg, while Mattia Perin is set to join Palermo in Serie B.
