Liverpool Agrees to Sign Bradley Barcola from PSG for £120m

Liverpool Football Club has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to acquire winger Bradley Barcola. The total cost of the transfer has been set at approximately £120 million, surpassing the fee for Florian Wirtz, but falling short of the club record fee of £126 million previously paid to Newcastle for Alexander Isak.

This new signing addresses a significant need for Liverpool, who had been seeking one-on-one quality on the flanks throughout the summer. Alongside the recent signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34 million, Liverpool’s sporting director and new head coach Andoni Iraola appear determined to enhance their squad further.

Liverpool Pursues Ismaila Sarr with £50m Bid

The acquisition of additional wingers has become urgent due to Mohamed Salah’s recent departure to Trabzonspor, alongside the potential exits of Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo. Last week, Liverpool attempted to secure Yankuba Minteh from Brighton but refrained from meeting the £80 million asking price. Another target, Ismaila Sarr, currently with Crystal Palace, is being considered, with a transfer fee estimated at £50 million for the Senegal international.

Sarr, whose contract runs until 2029, is presently sidelined due to injury and is not participating with Pierre Sage’s squad.

Liverpool Remains Committed to Securing Sarr

According to a report from the Independent, Liverpool intends to make a renewed effort to finalize a deal for Sarr before the transfer window closes next week. The report states, “Liverpool are still pursuing Ismaila Sarr, despite seeing an initial offer of around £50 million rejected by Crystal Palace.”

While Barcola has a tendency to play on the left side, where Liverpool has options like Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha, and Munoz, the right flank poses a challenge with fewer available choices, making Sarr a potentially better fit in this role.

Sarr Offers Tactical Versatility for Liverpool

Although he may not fit the traditional mold of a winger, Sarr typically operates from the right or as an attacking midfielder for his current team, showcasing impressive speed and goal-scoring capability. He has played a crucial role in a successful Crystal Palace squad, contributing to their recent triumphs, which include an FA Cup victory and the UEFA Conference League title. As negotiations continue, fans await whether Richard Hughes can successfully finalize this promising transfer.

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Bradley Barcola.

The overall cost of the operation has been put at £120m – more than Florian Wirtz but beneath the club record fee of £126m paid to Newcastle for Alexander Isak.

Barcola’s acquisition solves a big problem for the Reds – who have been crying out for one-v-one quality out wide all summer long.

Although Victor Munoz was onboarded for a £34m fee from Osasuna it looks as though the Liverpool sporting director as well as new head coach Andoni Iraola won’t be stopping there.

Liverpool’s £50m bid for Ismaila Sarr

There is a necessity to add even more wingers to the squad – with Mohamed Salah leaving on a free transfer to Trabzonspor and Federico Chiesa along with Cody Gakpo now tipped to depart.

Last week Liverpool tried to sign Yankuba Minteh from Brighton but hesitated at the £80m asking price. Another target – Ismaila Sarr at Crystal Palace – was also considered with the fee for the Senegal international standing at £50m.

Under contract until 2029 Sarr is currently injured and not involved for Pierre Sage’s side.

Liverpool will try again for Ismaila Sarr

According to a report in the Independent Liverpool are not giving up on the former Marseille winger and will make another attempt to seal the deal before the deadline next week.

“Liverpool are still pursuing Ismaila Sarr, despite seeing an initial offer of around £50m rejected by Crystal Palace,” the report reads.

Barcola prefers playing on the left – where Liverpool already have other options in the shape of Gakpo as well as Rio Ngumoha and Munoz.

There is a lack of options over on the other side – with Sarr perhaps a more natural fit than Barcola.

Ismaila Sarr can solve Liverpool’s right-wing issues

Although not an out-and-out, chalk-on-your-boots winger the Senegal FIFA World Cup star usually lines up from the right or else in attacking midfield for the South London side.

Renowned for his finishing prowess and his speed Sarr has been part of a highly successful Palace side in recent years.

He is an FA Cup winner, Community Shield winner and last season added the UEFA Conference League to his trophy cabinet. Let’s see if Richard Hughes manages to get this deal over the line.
