Liverpool Secures Bradley Barcola from PSG Amidst Ongoing Transfer Pursuits

Liverpool has completed the signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old France international has been the club’s top target throughout the summer, and Richard Hughes successfully secured his services for a fee that could exceed £120 million.

While Barcola prefers to play on the left side, his arrival expands Liverpool’s forward options. However, the team still lacks a high-quality natural right winger.

The departure of Mohamed Salah to Trabzonspor has left a significant gap in Andoni Iraola’s squad, prompting the club to explore various potential replacements.

Endrick Emerges as a Key Target for Liverpool

Current candidates for the position include Ismaila Sarr and Yankuba Minteh, although Liverpool’s interest in teenager Ibrahim Mbaye has ended following his transfer to Aston Villa.

Another possibility that has recently surfaced is Endrick, the 20-year-old forward from Real Madrid. His position has been affected by the arrivals of new signings Yan Diomande and Carlos Espi under coach Jose Mourinho.

As a Brazilian international, Endrick presents a potential world-class solution for both the centre-forward and right wing roles, addressing two challenges for Liverpool.

Liverpool Initiates Talks for Endrick, Says Fabrizio Romano

With Salah’s exit and Hugo Ekitike sidelined until 2027, a short-term acquisition — possibly with an option to buy — could have been beneficial for Richard Hughes to consider.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool engaged in discussions with Real Madrid to acquire the left-footed attacker. However, the club has been informed that Endrick is currently unavailable, prompting the need for other forward options.

“The club that really tried to sign Endrick was Liverpool around three weeks ago,” the Italian transfer expert stated to his YouTube audience.

“Liverpool inquired about Endrick as a possibility. I mentioned in a previous video that it wasn’t Arsenal who pursued him.

“Liverpool attempted to acquire Endrick, but the player was not available on the market at that time.”

Potential for Endrick’s Availability in January

Meanwhile, reports also suggest that Arsenal may attempt to strike a deal for the Palmeiras academy graduate, which Romano has also refuted.

For now, it appears that Endrick will remain with Real Madrid this season, despite the influx of new talent at the Bernabeu.

New manager Jose Mourinho is willing to give Endrick opportunities, though Liverpool may revisit their interest in January if the player’s situation does not improve.

Endrick faced challenges under Xabi Alonso last season, where he saw no significant playing time and was loaned to Tyler Morton’s Lyon midway through the season.

Liverpool have signed Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international, 23, has been the priority target all summer and Richard Hughes has got his man for a fee that could reach in excess of £120m.

Barcola prefers to play on the left – which means that while the 2024/25 Premier League champions have significantly augmented their forward options they are STILL without a natural high-quality right winger.

Mohamed Salah leaving for Trabzonspor has blown a hole in Andoni Iraola’s squad and many players have been looked over as potential replacements.

Endrick is the ideal option for Liverpool

Ismaila Sarr and Yankuba Minteh are two options currently in play although Ibrahim Mbaye has gone to Aston Villa – ending Liverpool’s interest in the teenager.

Another intriguing option which has opened up in recent weeks is Endrick. The Real Madrid 20-year-old has been pushed down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho with new signings Yan Diomande and Carlos Espi coming in.

Brazil international Endrick is a potential world-class addition at centre-forward as well as right wing – solving two Liverpool problems at once.

Liverpool have made an approach for Endrick confirms Fabrizio Romano

Not only is Salah departed but Hugo Ekitike is not expected back until 2027. A short-term deal – perhaps with a purchase option attached – might have been a good idea for Richard Hughes to consider.

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Liverpool entered talks with Real Madrid to sign the left-footed attacker. Nonetheless Liverpoo have been told “no” by their Los Blancos counterparts – meaning other forward deals will have to be considered.

“The club that really tried, but not now, three weeks ago, to sign Endrick was Liverpool,” the Italian transfer heavyweight tells his YouTube audience.

“Liverpool has asked for Endrick as a possibility.

“I told you already in a video a few weeks ago. Not Arsenal.

“Liverpool tried for Endrick, but the player was not again available on the market.”

Endrick may be available again in January

It comes as reports link Arsenal with a deal for the Palmeiras academy product – which Romano also dismisses.

Instead it looks as though Endrick is going to persist with Real Madrid this season despite all those new signings arriving at the Bernabeu.

New coach Jose Mourinho is content to give the attacker a shot although Liverpool may well be encouraged back to the table in January if his situation hasn’t changed.

Endrick suffered under Xabi Alonso last season – playing no significant minutes – and was shipped out on loan to Tyler Morton’s Lyon mid-season.
