# Liverpool Ready to Outbid Chelsea for Lamine Camara
Liverpool are reportedly prepared to spend more than Chelsea to secure a world-class player. This transfer would be a major addition.
The Reds’ midfield requires attention, which is obvious to anyone watching. It is surprising that Liverpool failed to address the issue during the summer window.

In fact, the club parted with Curtis Jones and did not bring in a replacement, causing the situation to actually get worse.
The issue is that Liverpool possess only attack-minded midfield options, and none are skilled enough at regaining possession or dictating play in central areas. Alexis Mac Allister is the strongest in this regard, yet he performs better alongside a specialist like that rather than acting as the primary ball-winner himself.
Liverpool, however, plan to pursue a target in 2027 and have identified the player they want.
Liverpool ready to outbid Chelsea
Journalist Ben Jacobs states that Liverpool are prepared to beat Chelsea to Lamine Camara. Reports on this potential deal have accelerated rapidly; there were no definitive links between the Reds and the midfielder throughout the summer, yet suddenly, just before the transfer window closed, it was evident Liverpool held strong interest.

They contacted AS Monaco and Camara to indicate that a bid would come in 2027. Jacobs notes that Chelsea, who had a deal nearly finalized at the deadline, will not exceed the €55m they initially ‘agreed’ upon.
Liverpool, however, will likely pay more. That was the main point of their call to Monaco, explaining why the club’s president mentioned receiving greater funds later if they withdrew from the Chelsea agreement.
We’re massive fans of the player and believe Camara could solve Liverpool’s issues. He has started the season playing at world-class levels, and €55m is likely to be too low a fee for him regardless.
