Liverpool Eyes Alex Scott Amid Competition from Chelsea
Liverpool has expressed interest in Alex Scott, the 23-year-old Bournemouth midfielder.
Scott, who has previously collaborated with head coach Andoni Iraola at the Vitality Stadium, has established himself as a key player for the England national team, gaining significant recognition over the past year.

The Cherries are eager to secure Scott with a new contract, but if they fail to do so, they might consider selling him to a top club, potentially fetching a transfer fee in excess of £100 million.
Alex Scott Could Join Chelsea
One challenge for Liverpool is the presence of Chelsea in the running for Scott. Currently, Xabi Alonso’s team is viewed as the frontrunner to sign the former Bristol City player.
Should Liverpool miss out on acquiring Scott, they are likely to explore alternative options. According to a report in TEAMtalk, Felix Nmecha could arrive from Borussia Dortmund next summer instead.
The report states, “Liverpool have also got him listed, viewing him as a potential alternative should other targets like Alex Scott prove unattainable.”

Liverpool Considering Nmecha as a Suitable Replacement
Nmecha, who recently joined the Yellow and Blacks from Wolfsburg in 2023, has gained recognition as a full German international and a sought-after player among top clubs in both England and Europe.
Liverpool is reportedly among several sides, including Manchester United, interested in Nmecha, who has a contract with Signal Iduna Park until 2030.
However, his deal features a release clause that allows a potential transfer for €80 million (£67 million) starting in the summer of 2027.
Before that, any interested party, including Liverpool, may need to pay a hefty fee of approximately €100 million (£84 million) for the midfielder.

Understanding Nmecha’s Release Clause
The report explains, “An €80 million clause will only become available from the summer.”
Until then, any buyer must reach Dortmund’s asking price, expected to be around €100 million.
Missing out on Scott would be a setback for Liverpool, particularly given Chelsea’s recent successes in transfer dealings with the club. However, securing Nmecha, one of the most highly sought-after midfielders in Europe, could help soften the disappointment.
