Trent Alexander-Arnold Remains Committed to Real Madrid Amid Premier League Interest
Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is drawing attention from various Premier League clubs as the winter transfer window approaches. However, the 28-year-old defender is not considering a departure from the Spanish club at this time. According to a report from MARCA, he remains focused on his future at the Santiago Bernabeu despite his limited playing time under coach Jose Mourinho.
Trent has only initiated four matches this season, becoming one of the notable victims of Mourinho’s decision to utilize Federico Valverde as a right-back. His playing time has dwindled to just 53 minutes over the past five games, prompting speculation about his long-term ambitions in Madrid. This was particularly evident during the recent El Clasico, where he substituted Arda Guler in the 94th minute.
After Valverde suffered a muscular issue in the 62nd minute of their last match, Mourinho opted to bring on Denzel Dumfries instead of Alexander-Arnold, indicating a preference for the Dutchman’s physical and defensive style.
Trent’s struggles this season follow a challenging first campaign in Spain, marred by three muscular injuries, including two serious setbacks, which limited him to just 30 appearances. This lack of consistent performance has also kept him from participating in England’s 2026 World Cup efforts. The arrival of Dumfries from Inter for €20 million last summer has further complicated his position, with Valverde now ahead of him in the coach’s plans.
As Trent continues to confront a reduced role, several Premier League teams have taken notice, particularly regarding the potential for a transfer in January. Reports indicate that clubs in England are evaluating whether they can facilitate a transfer during the winter window. Furthermore, his former club Liverpool has expressed interest in a possible loan return for him.
Despite this growing interest from other clubs, Trent is focused on proving his worth at Real Madrid, with the next couple of months being critical in deciding his future trajectory at the club.
