Headline: Harry Kane Extends Contract with Bayern Munich Until 2029
Bayern Munich has secured the services of star player Harry Kane for an extended period, as he signs a new contract to remain with the club until 2029. The announcement follows Kane’s recent triumph in winning the Ballon d’Or, where he bested notable players Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe for the prestigious award, recognizing his outstanding goal-scoring performance over the past year.
In a statement reflecting on his time at the club, Kane expressed his satisfaction, saying, “I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club. My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”
Since joining Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, Kane has made an impressive impact, netting 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances, including a remarkable 61 goals in 51 games during the last season, which culminated in a league and cup double for the club. Notably, he won his first Bundesliga title in the 2024/25 season, marking a significant milestone after 14 years without silverware during his tenure at Spurs.
This season, the 33-year-old forward has maintained his scoring touch, tallying 10 goals and providing eight assists in just 14 matches to date.
Bayern Munich’s CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, expressed his enthusiasm regarding Kane’s contract extension, stating, “We’re delighted to have successfully extended Harry Kane’s contract. This is fantastic news for us, for our fans, and for the Bundesliga. The Ballon d’Or winner is staying at Bayern Munich. Since joining us in 2023, he has achieved extraordinary things with his goals, his influence on the game, and as a role model both on and off the pitch. He has long since made FC Bayern his home, has continued to develop with us, and crowned that development with the Ballon d’Or. His contract extension is a commitment to FC Bayern and to a story that is far from over.”
