Headline: Germany’s Jurgen Klopp Excludes Adeyemi from Nations League Squad, Calls Up Ter Stegen
Barcelona’s summer acquisition Karim Adeyemi will not be part of Germany’s squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches, as confirmed by manager Jurgen Klopp.
In contrast, goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who is currently on loan at AFC Ajax from Barcelona, has received a call-up.
Germany’s national team will play against Serbia on November 13 away from home and will host the Netherlands on November 16 in their Nations League fixtures this season.
Klopp previously included Adeyemi in the squad during the first international break of the current season, following a strong start to his tenure at Barcelona after transferring from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Adeyemi’s exclusion is notable as he has not scored in his last seven appearances for Barcelona across all competitions.
In a different light, Ter Stegen has been enjoying regular playing time at Ajax following his loan move and once again makes the squad list for Die Mannschaft. With Manuel Neuer having retired from international football, Ter Stegen is positioned to take over as the national team’s first-choice goalkeeper and will be looking to solidify his spot.
