Tottenham’s Mathys Tel Competes with Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram for France Spot

Headline: Tottenham’s Mathys Tel May Join French National Team for November Training Camp

Tottenham Hotspur forward Mathys Tel could receive a call-up from French national team coach Zinédine Zidane for the upcoming November training camp, according to reports from L’Équipe.

With Esteban Lepaul and Ousmane Dembélé sidelined due to injuries, Tel may seize the chance to make his senior debut for France in the upcoming matches against Italy and Turkey.

While he has netted only one goal in nine appearances this season for Spurs, including seven starts, his impressive performances with the France Under-21 squad have caught the attention of the coaching staff for the senior team. As captain of the Under-21s, Tel notably scored five goals and provided one assist in four matches during the last training camp.

Tel faces competition for a spot in the squad, notably from Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram, who has made a strong start to his season, scoring five goals and contributing four assists in 13 matches. Thuram was absent from the national team in September but is also in the running for a place.
