Milan to Face Challenges Amid Samuel Chukwueze’s Absence

Milan Confirms Surgery for Samuel Chukwueze, Ending His Season

Milan has announced that Samuel Chukwueze has undergone surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in the tensor fasciae latae muscle of his left hip. The Nigerian international has been sidelined since he was substituted during the match against Atalanta. With this recent operation, Chukwueze will miss the remainder of the season, as Corriere dello Sport is estimating his return around January-February.

This situation poses a significant challenge for the Rossoneri and their coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager had relied on the 27-year-old to fill the right-wingback position, a role crucial in his 3-4-2-1 formation. Chukwueze had revitalized his career at San Siro after a loan season at Fulham prior to Amorim’s arrival.

Since losing Chukwueze to injury, Milan has faced difficulties, registering two losses, although they managed to secure a commanding 3–1 victory over Inter in their latest outing, showcasing their determination.

In Chukwueze’s absence, Diego Moreira and Omari Hutchinson have stepped in to cover the right flank, with Hutchinson additionally providing options as a wide No. 10 in Amorim’s back-three setup as well as a right-midfielder in his alternate back-four formation.
