Unai Emery Storms Down Tunnel After Man United’s Last-Minute Equaliser

Headline: Unai Emery Leaves Tunnel Frustrated After Aston Villa’s Late Equalizer Against Manchester United

Aston Villa’s manager Unai Emery appeared to leave the pitch in frustration after Manchester United equalized in the closing moments, resulting in a dramatic 4-4 draw during a thrilling Premier League encounter.

The match, held at Old Trafford, saw United seemingly on the verge of defeat as they trailed 4-2 deep into injury time. However, Joshua Zirkzee ignited hope for the home side by scoring in the 92nd minute, followed shortly by Patrick Dorgu, who headed in the equalizer in the 96th minute.

Emery did not wait for the VAR check to confirm Dorgu’s goal and immediately made his way down the tunnel, leaving before the final whistle. In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Emery opined that he thought the game was effectively over after United’s late score.

The Villans started the match strong, establishing a 2-0 lead within the first five minutes thanks to goals from Alysson and Nicolas Jackson. However, their lead quickly diminished as Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty following a foul by Boubacar Kamara. This marked the beginning of intense pressure on the visiting team, which culminated in Youri Tielemans equalizing against his former club just before halftime.

The second half proved challenging for Emery’s squad. Villa conceded two more goals within seven minutes, with a penalty from John McGinn and a tap-in from Leon Goretzka, pushing the score to 4-2.

As time wound down, it seemed Emery’s team would secure the win, but Zirkzee’s late goal followed by Dorgu’s header dashed those hopes, allowing Manchester United to salvage a point. This dramatic draw means United remains in the Premier League’s bottom three, currently sitting 18th in the standings.

In contrast, Villa finds themselves in 10th place; despite the draw, they could have climbed to eighth had they secured the win.
