Jude Bellingham earns high praise following vital goal for England
Jude Bellingham earned praise as an “absolute star” after he scored for England during the World Cup 2026.
Bellingham found the net in the second minute of stoppage time in the first half. The goal leveled the match for England after Andreas Schjelderup scored an opener for Norway in Miami.
After Gary Neville called the Real Madrid midfielder “an absolute star” following his powerful run and finish for Thomas Tuchel’s side, Ian Wright highlighted a key part of the play.
“It’s the touch, the defender is worried about the touch, but that touch there, it’s keeping the ball away to get the shot off,” Wright said on ITV Sport’s coverage.
Neville added: “Jude you are an absolute star, this pass from Gordon, you’re in business.”
Roy Keane also praised Bellingham, who improved his standing in the race for the Golden Boot.
“He’s in control of everything,” Keane said. “His right foot, finish with his left, I can be critical of Norway’s defenders but it’s a fantastic finish.”
England assistant manager Anthony Barry discussed the first half performance: “I feel like the environment and climate impacted the first 25 minutes, I thought we had total control and dominance.
“After the water break, we invited Norway into the counter-attacks, they had the Haaland warning chance, then an undeserved wonder shot, I feel like the Bellingham goal released the stadium and our lads.”
