Fortuna Sittard has secured the services of 26-year-old Oxford United striker Ole Romeny on a season-long loan for the 2026/2027 campaign. The agreement between the two clubs does not include a future purchase option for the Indonesian forward. Fortuna Sittard management hopes Romeny will replace the scoring production lost following the summer departure of Kaj Sierhuis, while the player views this move as an opportunity to regain his form after a difficult tenure at Oxford United.

Romeny moved to Oxford United in January 2025, arriving from FC Utrecht, where he tallied three goals in 32 appearances. His time at Oxford United proved challenging, as he managed only one goal across 32 total games. That solitary effort came during his 14 appearances in the latter half of the 2024/2025 season. During the most recent campaign, Romeny failed to find the net in 18 matches. His most productive season to date remains the 2022/2023 campaign with FC Emmen in the Eredivisie, where he netted 12 goals in 39 matches. That performance earned him a transfer to Utrecht, though he has struggled to replicate that form since.
