Allan Saint-Maximin Joins Charlotte FC After Leaving RC Lens
Allan Saint-Maximin (29) has officially joined MLS club Charlotte FC on a free transfer, it was confirmed on Monday, following his departure from RC Lens at the end of last month.
The forward joined Lens last February after terminating his contract with the Mexican side Club America. He enjoyed a productive second half of the season, recording four goals and three assists in 13 appearances for Les Sang et Or.
Saint-Maximin signs three-year deal
During his brief time with the northern French club, Saint-Maximin helped the team secure the first title of his professional career, the Coupe de France.
Despite this success, he did not sign an extension at the Stade Bollaert, opting to leave as a free agent when his short-term deal expired. The former Newcastle United winger is now returning to North America to play for Charlotte FC, having signed a three-year Designated Player contract with the Major League Soccer side.
