Argentina Calls Up Seven Serie A Players for Upcoming Friendlies
Lionel Scaloni has summoned seven players from Serie A for the Argentina squad ahead of matches against Uruguay and Costa Rica. The selected players represent Como, Roma, Fiorentina, and Parma.
The World Cup Finalists will play a friendly against Uruguay on November 13, followed by another match against Costa Rica on November 17.
Nahuel Molina is still unavailable due to a ban stemming from incidents following the World Cup Final, which means he will continue his recovery at Roma alongside injured teammate Paulo Dybala.
According to Sky Sport, Leonardo Balerdi and Matias Soulé are likely to start on the bench for Roma in their match against Como on Sunday. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini plans to give them a rest following their commitments with the national team.
Nevertheless, Roma will send Balerdi, Soulé, and Santiago Castro to Scaloni’s training camp. Como players Nico Paz and Maxi Perrone have also received call-ups, along with Fiorentina’s Franco Mastantuono.
Nico Gonzalez was initially expected to be included but will miss out due to injury issues affecting several Juventus players, including Inter captain Lautaro Martinez.
