Arsenal Prepares £70m Bid for Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal is set to make a £70 million offer for Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes. The Brazil international is a priority target for the Gunners, who are keen to bolster their squad after last season’s title run.

Newcastle is aware of the 28-year-old midfielder’s preference to join Arsenal this summer. Ongoing talks about a potential move have gained momentum in recent days, though it remains unclear if Arsenal’s £70 million bid will satisfy Newcastle’s valuation.

Arsenal is determined to strengthen their lineup with high-quality players as they aim to build on their previous season. The north London club previously showed interest in Morgan Rogers, who has joined Chelsea for £117 million, from Aston Villa but stopped short of going over their £80 million valuation of the player.

Reports indicate that Arsenal had the chance to match Chelsea’s offer for Rogers but opted not to pursue it further.

In a similar fashion, Arsenal has set a hardline maximum valuation for Guimaraes and is unwilling to exceed it, despite their eagerness to bring the midfielder on board. Additionally, Arsenal expressed significant interest in Villa defender Ezri Konsa and has inquired about the England international’s availability.

Konsa is the Gunners’ top choice for defense. Arsenal has also listed Como’s Jacobo Ramon among defenders they wish to acquire, although reported clauses in the Spaniard’s contract complicate any potential deal.

With the Rogers situation unresolved, Arsenal continues to search for attacking reinforcements. Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez remains a dream target; however, the player’s preference for Barcelona and the potential cost—possibly surpassing the British record fee of £125 million set by Alexander Isak’s transfer from Newcastle to Liverpool—pose substantial challenges.
