Arsenal have reported that Ben White is making encouraging progress in his recovery from a significant medial knee ligament injury, which curtailed his 2025/26 season. The club expects him to resume pre-season training shortly.
White sustained the injury during a match against West Ham United in May, which prevented him from participating in the Champions League final and dashed his chances of playing for England at the World Cup.
At the time, Arsenal aimed for his return to align with the club’s pre-season preparations, and it seems he is on track to achieve that goal.

The 27-year-old defender’s future continues to attract interest from clubs such as Everton and Crystal Palace, with speculation regarding his potential transfer persisting.
His injury has reportedly complicated the situation, but Gary Jacob of The Times has indicated that White is “unlikely to take a drop in level” this summer.
As the latter part of the 2025/26 season progressed, there were strong indications that White might seek a move away from Arsenal during the transfer window.
However, as July progresses, the reports surrounding his future have become less definitive.
A successful return to full training during pre-season could heighten interest from potential buyers, yet any proposals before White demonstrates his fitness may fall short of Arsenal’s asking price.
If he is also hesitant to accept a lesser role, this could limit the available options significantly.
Currently, a summer departure appears less likely than it had a month ago, a development that many would welcome, provided Arsenal can secure and maintain his fitness.
