Augsburg Rejects €20 Million Bid from Crystal Palace for Chrislain Mastima
Augsburg has turned down a €20 million offer from Crystal Palace for defender Chrislain Mastima, as confirmed by Florian Plettenberg.
The 24-year-old central defender has reached a verbal agreement with the Premier League club and is eager to make the move. Following the sale of Maxence Lacroix to Chelsea, Crystal Palace sees Mastima as a suitable replacement in their starting lineup.
However, Augsburg is holding out for a larger offer and anticipates that Palace will return with a revised proposal later today, Friday, July 24.
Mastima joined Augsburg from Monaco in 2025 for a fee of just €5 million. Since his arrival, he has played 48 Bundesliga matches, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
Standing at 1.94 meters tall, the young defender is well-equipped to meet the physical challenges of the Premier League, showcasing great composure and skill in his game.
If the deal is finalized, it would represent a significant acquisition for Pierre Sage’s squad. According to TransferMarkt, Mastima’s current market value stands at €22 million.
