Headline: Barcelona Concerns Grow as Raphinha Named for International Duty Despite Injury History
Raphinha’s season commenced with remarkable fervor. The Barcelona captain appeared nearly unstoppable, achieving back-to-back hat-tricks that showcased his prowess in front of goal. However, his momentum took a hit after receiving a call-up for international duty from Carlo Ancelotti, which led to a disappointing turn of events when he suffered a thigh injury during a match against Australia.
After this injury, Raphinha missed subsequent games for Barcelona following the international break. Even though he returned, his performance has noticeably declined compared to his earlier form.

As per an exclusive report by The Touchline, Barcelona reacted with dismay at Ancelotti’s choice to include Raphinha in his squad for the upcoming international break in November.

Concerns arise as he has not fully regained his fitness and calling him up shortly after his recovery from injury seems inappropriate. In light of the already busy football schedule, more emphasis on player welfare and physical readiness is necessary.
Ancelotti has consistently fielded Raphinha in Brazil’s matches without hesitation and has rarely substituted him, even when allowing other key players to rest.

Adding to Barcelona’s discomfort, Raphinha’s history of injuries during international duty raises concerns, primarily due to a lack of proper management of his playing minutes. Following El Clasico, Hansi Flick confirmed that Raphinha requested to be substituted as his body struggled to handle the demands. While the German coach respected the winger’s fitness, expectations differ with Ancelotti.
This time, Brazil is set to play in Singapore on November 14th and 17th. The player will travel approximately 11,000 km for these friendlies, which hold little significance.
Interestingly, players from Palmeiras and Flamengo have been left out of the squad to honor domestic obligations.
