Club Approves Liverpool’s £100m Deal

Liverpool Eyes Major Midfielder Signing Amid Chelsea Competition for Alex Scott

One Premier League club is hoping Liverpool come in with an offer. They’re looking to complete a £100m deal.

Liverpool plans to pursue a midfielder in 2027, addressing a gap that was not filled during the summer transfer window.

While the team made changes, such as Curtis Jones moving to Inter and Trey Nyoni stepping up to first-team status, their issues in midfield persist. Liverpool continues to lack a defensive midfielder or a controlling player. Although Nyoni shows promise, it may be too much pressure for a teenager in his first full senior season.

This situation has led to the belief that Liverpool will aim for a significant signing. They need someone to alleviate the pressure on Nyoni while also providing added experience in managing matches within the Premier League.

Importantly, such a player is available and is currently awaiting an offer from Liverpool.

Alex Scott is in Demand

While Chelsea leads the race to sign Alex Scott from Bournemouth, targeting a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, Liverpool is still in the running. According to The Daily Mail, Scott is anticipated to leave Bournemouth next year, entering the last year of his contract.

Chelsea believes they can finalize a deal for around £90m. However, Bournemouth is looking for offers from Liverpool as well, hoping to stimulate a bidding war that could exceed £100m.

This tactic is not new, as Brighton employed a similar strategy with Moisés Caicedo in 2023, driving up the stakes between Liverpool and Chelsea to secure a nine-figure deal.

Liverpool, therefore, has the opportunity to sign Scott from Bournemouth if they are prepared to offer over £100m. The Cherries are open to finalizing that figure. Whether Liverpool will proceed with such a hefty expenditure remains in question.

Although Scott is undeniably a talented player, the prospect of another £100m signing raises concerns. With Nyoni’s contributions, Liverpool may not need to invest that heavily in a midfielder and could consider an alternative target for a lower price.

Thus, while Scott is likely to join Chelsea, Bournemouth hopes to persuade Liverpool to enter the fray, and it’s possible they may succeed.
