Headline: Le Havre Football Club Faces Leadership Crisis Following Poor Start to Season
Believe it or not, those tall tales from the Paulaner beer garden apparently can come true after all. At least in France.
Things are currently unfolding at top-flight club Le Havre that you simply couldn’t make up. Right in the thick of it: a former Bundesliga striker. But what exactly happened?
A dreadful start to the season for the bottom-of-the-table side culminated in a 5–1 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Friday night. With just two points from nine games, the club’s American owners (Blue Crow Sports Group) took action.

Coach Didier Digard was relieved of his duties with immediate effect on Saturday, October 31. And then things got wild.
In response to the dismissal, Jean-Michel Roussier quit just one day later, resigning as club president. A club without a coach or a president—could things get any worse?
Oh yes. According to ‘L’Équipe’, sporting director Demba Ba followed suit today, announcing his resignation with immediate effect. The same Demba Ba who played in the Bundesliga for TSG Hoffenheim from 2007 to 2011 before going on to reach the Premier League. Yes, that one.
Demba Ba had only joined Le Havre from French club USL Dunkerque in the summer, with the long-term aim of guiding the club into European competition. Instead of dreaming of Europe, Le Havre now find themselves midway through the season without a coach, a president and, apparently, a sporting director either. Could things get any crazier for a professional club?
