Liverpool Faces Transfer Decision on Midfielder Curtis Jones
Liverpool are facing imminent danger over Curtis Jones.
The Reds’ midfielder is out of contract in 2027 and there is no sign of a new deal on the horizon. This summer represents the outgoing Premier League champions’ final opportunity to cash in on their homegrown playmaker.

Inter Milan have been sniffing around Jones for a couple of transfer windows now. The Italian champions tried to sign the 25-year-old back in January but were knocked back by Richard Hughes.
Cristian Chivu’s side have been knocking on the door for Jones all summer long. But the Nerazzurri are testing Richard Hughes’ patience as they have so far failed to match Liverpool’s asking price.
No new bid for Curtis Jones confirms Romano
The Merseysiders want around £35m (€40m) for Jones – a reasonable price for a player of his quality – but Inter’s offers up to now have been derisory.
Liverpool are quite prepared to hang onto Jones for the final season of his contract with Andoni Iraola meeting the No17 for talks this week.

It’s also been claimed that Inter have lodged a new bid with the Reds – worth around £27m (€32m) – in an effort to land the England international.
But Fabrizio Romano has dismissed these bid claims – adding that Liverpool will settle for not a cent less than €40m upfront.
Liverpool won’t budge from €40m valuation
“So many of you asked us yesterday: ‘But in England they’re saying Inter have made a new offer,’ while in Italy they say Inter are still negotiating for Curtis Jones — and between Italy and England you hear all sorts of different things,” Romano told his YouTube audience.
“Guys, what we are being told — what I’m being told — about Curtis Jones is this: we can keep repeating every day that Inter like Curtis Jones, that he’s Inter’s top target, that they’ve wanted him since January — there’s no doubt he’s very high on their list.

“But then there’s reality. And the reality is this: number one, Liverpool are starting from €40 million. That’s the figure. €25m plus €5m, €30m plus €2m, all these kinds of formulas — Liverpool are not interested. It’s €40m.
“And on top of that, the coach at Liverpool has changed in recent weeks. Andoni Iraola has come in, and yesterday in his press conference — he didn’t talk about many players — but among the few he mentioned, there was Curtis Jones.
“And he said: ‘I want to keep Curtis Jones here. I want him to be part of our project this year and for the future. He’s an important player, he knows Liverpool, he comes from here — he’s someone I want to keep with us.’
“So Liverpool have put up a pretty significant wall compared to what expectations were. As far as I’m aware, there have been absolutely no new offers from Inter in recent days.

“The interest isn’t new — Inter wanting Curtis Jones is not in doubt — but as I’ve been telling you for weeks, this is a difficult deal, an uphill one, and that remains the case right now.
“So that’s the situation around Curtis Jones. Then, if Inter decide to make a financial effort and move closer to Liverpool’s demands, we’ll report it.
“But as of today, that’s not the case — and in fact, we have Iraola’s comments. So beyond what’s being said between Italy and England, I can only tell you what we’re hearing, with the utmost respect for every source.”
Great news for fans: Curtis Jones could yet stay
For any Liverpool fans hopeful of keeping Jones around this is excellent news. It means he is one step closer to remaining at Anfield for the season ahead.
Given that he will play a significant role in preseason it is a chance for the Scouser to demonstrate his quality and importance to the new head coach.
